Authentic Creations welcomes your query letters. Queries are our primary source for locating new talent. In order to help us properly evaluate your query, please follow the directions set forth below as well as the additional directions for fiction or nonfiction queries.

In your query letter, you should provide Authentic Creations with a thumbnail sketch of your manuscript, including the type (fiction or non-fiction) and the genre (mainstream, mystery, how-to, true crime, etc.). It is also helpful if you provide some information about your writing background such as previous publications, college writing courses, and why you are sufficiently knowledgeable to write on the subject matter you have chosen for your book.

Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) so that we may answer your query. If you want your materials returned, be sure to include sufficient postage to cover the cost. We respectfully request that you do not forward your entire manuscript with your query letter.

Authentic Creations answers most queries within two weeks of the date they are received. Occasionally, it may take additional time.

If your work fits Authentic Creations' needs, we will request the entire manuscript. If not, you will be informed in writing. In order to provide the best possible service to our authors, Authentic Creations must be extremely selective in choosing who it represents. Thus, it is sometimes necessary to decline representation of certain works. While we understand the effort an author puts into his or her work, we feel that Authentic Creations can best fulfill its commitment to top-rate, personalized service by selecting only a limited number of works for representation.

Fiction Queries

For fiction queries, in addition to your query letter, please include a one or two page synopsis of the entire work along with its entire first chapter. This will give us a better idea if your plot and writing style are a good match for Authentic Creations.

Non-fiction Queries

For non-fiction, in addition to the query letter, please provide the following:

1. A statement on the targeted audience for your work;
2. A description of any similar book already in publication and a description of how your book is different from those already available;
3. A chapter-by-chapter outline of your book;
4. A detailed explanation of why you are qualified to write on the subject matter.
